The Regional Enterprise Development Institute (REDI.E) is the peak service provider for Aboriginal communities in Western NSW.

About the Opportunity

REDI.E now has a fantastic opportunity for a HR Manager to join their team. This is a full-time, 2 year contract position, with extension likely for the right person. This role will be predominantly based in Dubbo, with regular travel as needed to REDI.E serviced communities in western NSW.

Reporting to the CEO, this is a true generalist role that will see you exercising control over the human resources function for the organisation. This will include the leading, promotion and implementation of HR planning and management strategies, as well as the administration of the internal payroll function.

The decisions and actions taken by the person in this role will have a significant effect on programmes, projects and/or work areas within REDI.E and as such, this role would be well-suited to someone who wants to see the impact the work they are doing is making on a daily basis. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Reviewing and administering employment contracts for the organisation including new staff and existing staff up for contract renewal;
  • Overseeing induction and training for all new and existing REDI.E employees;
  • Processing the payroll for approx. 100-130 REDI.E employees, utilising the Xero accounting software;
  • Creating a standardised business policy and procedures surrounding ongoing performance development for staff;
  • Acting as the primary contact for payroll and HR related complaints; and
  • Working with the Work Health and Safety Manager to manage and monitor the organisation's ongoing compliance in regards to WH&S issues.

About You

To be considered for this position, you will hold tertiary qualifications in HR or similar and have demonstrated experience in a generalist HR role, including experience running and/or overseeing a payroll function.

You will have a strong general knowledge and understanding of human resource functions and be well-organised in order to effectively present information, respond and follow-up on questions and internal and external enquiries in a timely manner.

Critical to your success in this role will be the willingness and ability to work with people from all different cultural backgrounds, including Indigenous Australians. You will be unbiased, honest and respectful in all of your dealings with employees and relevant stakeholders and will conduct yourself with professionalism and maturity at all times. Importantly, you will be calm under pressure and be experienced in handling complaints and resolving conflicts within the workplace.

Please note: A current Driver's License is essential for this position. You must also be willing to undergo a criminal history check, as well as holding a Working With Children Clearance Notice prior to commencing employment with REDI.E.
