About the Opportunity

REDI.E now has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Manager to lead REDI.E's Vocational Training Employment Centre (VTEC). This is a full-time, 2 year contract position, with extension likely for the right person. This role will be predominantly based in Dubbo, with frequent travel throughout the region as required.

Reporting to the Program Manager, and overseeing a small team of Case Managers and administration staff, this is a key role within the organisation that is responsible for ensuring performance, employment targets and contractual obligations of the VTEC program are met. This will include the management of resources (financial, staffing and physical), and maintaining positive partnerships with key stakeholders involved in the VTEC program.

Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Analysing VTEC performance reports and implementing strategies to drive performance and achievement of KPIs;
  • Ensuring regional compliance with relevant contractual obligations;
  • Preparing and participating in internal and external audits and implementing recommendations within designated time frames;
  • Showing initiative in strategic planning for the VTEC program; and
  • Managing individual staff workloads and performance.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have relevant tertiary qualifications in business, community development or similar, with demonstrated experience coordinating the delivery of employment services programs, ideally for Aboriginal people. 

With a vast region to oversee, stretching from the far-west region of NSW through to the Riverina, this is a very diverse and busy role requiring someone with excellent time management and organisational skills and a strong commercial acumen, in order to ensure current obligations are being met and new business opportunities are being identified. You will be a savvy business person, with the demonstrated ability to analyse legislation, policies and procedures and contract obligations, whilst balancing the demands of operational requirements.

REDI.E is looking for a communicative and personable leader who can mentor staff, facilitate training and negotiate between stakeholders to effectively resolve issues. Importantly, you will be sensitive to the issues affecting people in remote indigenous communities and will be unbiased and respectful in all of your dealings with employees and relevant stakeholders. 

Please note: A current, open Driver's License is essential for this position. You must also be willing to undergo a criminal history check, as well as holding a Working With Children Clearance Notice prior to commencing employment with REDI.E.
